However, despite his impressive showing for the Super Eagles at the mundial, the former CSKA Moscow of Russia star left English Premier League club, Leicester City for the obscure league of Saudi Arabia in search of regular football.
”Ahmed sought my consent before he moved to Saudi Arabia. He asked me if it is possible for him to still play for the national team if he moves to Saudi Arabia, and I told him no problem,”Rohr disclosed to reporters during the unveiling ceremony of his squad for the September 7 Africa Cup of Nations clash against Seychelles in Lagos on Friday.
“At Leicester City, he was not playing regularly which was a big issue for him ahead of the World Cup, which was the reason why he had to secure a loan move back to CSKA Moscow.
” So, I don’t have any problem with him playing in Saudi Arabia. So far he plays regularly there.
Musa, who scored on his debut for Al Nassr in an Arab Champions League game, wass among of the 24 players named by Rohr on Friday for the game against Seychelles.
