Africa’s 200 metres record-holder Blessing Okagbare has pulled out of the 100m and 200m race at 21st African Athletics Senior Championships in Asaba, Nigeria

Okagbare was inducted into the African Athletics Confederation (CAA) Hall of Fame on Tuesday night.

No reason for her opting out was officially disclosed, but a close source told Completesportsnigeria.com that she could be nursing a niggle.

It remains to be seen if she will take part in the long jump event.

“Her name is not on the start list of the 100m and the 200m and there could be just two reasons. Maybe she’s nursing a slight injury or the fear of Ta Lou,” our impeccable source in the organising committee revealed to CSN.
