You Are Marginalizing Us – Opposition Parties Tell Gov. Yari
No fewer than 10 opposition parties in Zamfara State have accused the administration of Governor Abdulaziz Yari of marginalising them in the appointments of Special Advisers.
The joint Chairman of the aggrieved parties and Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Badamasi Bello, while addressing journalists in Gusau at the weekend said, “in the last seven years, preferential treatment was being given to some opposition parties while others were sidelined.”
Some of the aggrieved parties include Accord Party (AP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Democratic People’s Party (DPP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Action Alliance (AA), Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), among others.
Bello said all the marginalised parties had participated fully in the 2011 and 2015 elections, including the 2016 local government elections and that none of them challenged elections results in court.
“The aggrieved parties have tremendously and positively helped in reshaping politics in the state. It is our fervent hope that Governor Abdulaziz Yari will look into our complaints with a view to making necessary adjustments and corrections,” he added.
