EPL: Manchester City vs Chelsea: Team News, Injuries, Potential Lineups

Title holders, Chelsea will be up against Manchester City on Sunday, with Pep Guardiola’s side almost certain to win their fifth EPL title this term.

Manchester City have a nineteen point lead over Chelsea after 28 games, having defeated Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates on Thursday.

Chelsea are fifth on the log and sit two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, meaning they face a battle to secure qualification for the Champions League.

For Chelsea, David Luiz is currently out with an ankle injury why midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has a knock that he sustained in training.

Ross Barkley, who has a hamstring injury, has stepped up his training routine and is close to making his comeback.

Alvaro Morata made his first start for over a month in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United but he is still struggling with pain from his back injury.

Suspensions:

Chelsea currently have no players suspended. Spain striker Morata is, however, one yellow card away from a two-match ban after accumulating nine bookings.

Chelsea might opt for a similar approach deployed against Barcelona in the Champions League when they tackle Manchester City, who play a similar style of football.

The formation would mean Eden Hazard playing as a false 9, supported by both Willian and Pedro.
